Titanic was produced by Digital Domain, James Cameron’s company in Venice, Los Angeles, California. They brought me plans of 2 miniature model a 16′ and a 10′. The job consisted in cutting the surface panels. In other words, the boat were built by the art department and I cut thin sheets of plastic with all the fine details that the exterior of the boat shows. I am not sure if the picture above is about this specific boat or the 100′ one that was built in Mexico. Nevertheless the miniature boats do look very close to the original.
I have worked with James Cameron on Terminator 3D also and I was his photographer in Amazon for a campaign against the horrible Belo Monte project, a dam for an electric plant on the Xingu river in Amazon. Please find more details about his story here.
